"If you’re an introvert, you also know that the bias against quiet can cause deep psychic pain. As a child you might have overheard your parents apologize for your shyness. Or at school you might have been prodded to come ‘out of your shell’— that noxious expression which fails to appreciate that some animals naturally carry shelter everywhere they go, and some humans are just the same."  - Susan Cain, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking (via calloway)

#true story

This girl in my ethics class was supposed to be going to Paris this week with her family

They had packed their suitcases and everything

But when they woke up, their dad was gone and there was a note on the fridge that said “HAHAHAHA”

He had April Fooled his whole family

And now he’s on his way to Paris

Damn

I was so tired that I fell asleep for an hour and woke up thinking it was tomorrow

And when I realized it was still today I promptly went back to sleep

White privilege is Miley Cyrus being praised for being an excellent “twerker”, while black women who twerk are looked down upon.
